About the training.

Rope climbing is the gateway to professional work in the crowns of trees. On this course you will learn to look at the tree before climbing it: assess its condition, identify the risks and make an informed decision on whether it is safe to climb. From there, the programme covers setting up the work station, choosing your equipment and the most efficient movement techniques for moving through the crown with control.

The practical sessions take place in small groups, with the trainer accompanying each climb to correct technique in real time. Particular attention is paid to the emergency plan: knowing what to do, with whom and in what order when something goes wrong. The course closes with a safe descent and a group debrief of what has been learned, laying the groundwork for the next stages of a climbing career.
